State of Present Simple Tense

Formulas:

·         Affirmative        :  Subject+is/am/are+Object(Noun or Adjective)
·         Negative             : Subject+is/am/are+not+Object(Noun or Adjective)
·         Interrogative      : is/am/are+Subject +not+Object(Noun or Adjective)
·         InterroNegative : is/am/are+not+Subject+Object(Noun or Adjective)

Uses of is/am/are:

·         Is :- Is is used with “He”,”She”,”It” and all third person singulars.
·         Am :- Am is used with only “I”.
·         Are:- Are is used with “You”,”We”,”They” and plurals.

Short Forms:

·         Is not = Isn’t
·         Are not = Aren’t
·         Am not = aren’t

Examples:

·         He is a doctor.
·         You are stubborn.
·         I am sulky.
·         He isn’t studious.
·         How is he?
·         How are you?
·         What is this?
·         I am ill.
